Accommodation for teams
The team members and the team leader can stay at the Kármán Tódor Dormitory during the competition. Each of the modernly furnished double rooms is equipped with cold-hot water and a refrigerator.
On each floor, there is a shared bathroom facility with washing and drying machines, and a kitchen is also available for cooking (with oven, microwave oven and electric kettle).
Please, don’t forget to bring a towel and personal toiletries (e.g. shower gel) with you.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the rooms, as well as the use of any smoke-generated devices.
Accommodation for accompanying personnel, organizers, and visitors
Accompanying personnel, organizers, and visitors arriving with the teams can stay at the Hotel Mercure Budapest Korona in double bedrooms (shared with a colleague).
Check-in: Officially, check-in at the hotel is possible from 4 PM on July 10th. If you arrive earlier, early check-in can only be arranged depending on availability. There is a possibility to store your luggage at the hotel.
Competition locations
The competition will take place at multiple locations. The opening ceremony will be held at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. The fights will be organized at the Faculty of Science of Eötvös Loránd University. This building will be our main venue, and meals will also be provided here. The final and closing ceremony will take place at Bosch Main Campus.
Excursion
Throughout the week spent with us, you will have several opportunities to explore Budapest through optional guided programs. On Sunday (July 14), participants will have a truly special experience as we take a joint excursion to the amazing Danube Bend. Teams can participate in a full-day excursion in Visegrád, where they can attend a special Knight’s tournament demonstration, and also have the opportunity for a boat trip. In addition, the programs of the International Palace Games and the bustling market offer a superb recreational opportunity for everyone. Meals will be provided during the excursion, taking into account individual preferences and food allergies.
Weather: Prepare for hot weather. We recommend wearing comfortable, loose clothing and using sunscreen. Try to stay in the shade while walking. Heavy rain is also possible, so it’s a good idea to have an umbrella/raincoat with you.
Gala dinner
After a tiring week, the students and their mentors can finally unwind and have some fun together at Dürer Kert during the gala dinner. At the gala dinner, alongside a buffet of continental cuisine, we’ll be serving traditional Hungarian and vegetarian dishes as well. Please indicate any food allergies during registration on the iypt cc platform.
